Stages CDC Social Determinants of Health Fellowship - Research opportunity

A research opportunity is currently available in Office of Policy, Evaluation, and Legislation (OPEL) within the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. 

Under the guidance of a mentor, the participant will be involved in the following activities:

  • Contributing to the design, implementation, and management of a pilot project targeting community-level multi-sectoral partnerships with demonstrated success implementing policies and strategies to address selected social determinants of health (SDoH). Activities include:
    • Collaborating with external partners to develop requests for proposals, including community selection criteria, evaluation framework and design of coordinated technical assistance (TA) model
    • Assisting with direct technical support to communities, as needed.
  • Conducting literature reviews, environmental scans, and assessments to support work of center wide SDoH measurement work group
  • Compiling materials for briefings, presentations, and other products describing SDoH

The participant will have the opportunity to interact with other subject matter experts in the Center on activities related to SDoH to enable the participant to develop skills in breadth of functions at CDC that will well-position the participant for a variety of potential future opportunities.
