The creation of the SG on Public Policy and Population Health (PPHP) aims to support research in this key and fast-growing field. More specifically, this SG aims to stimulate research and increase exchanges between researchers, the next generation and partners in this field. Given the complexity of health issues, the emergence of new risks and the uncertainty often faced by elected officials, it is important, on the one hand, to bring together existing expertise in the field of PPHP in order to inform and promote the most informed decision-making possible. On the other hand, it is essential to create a common space for researchers, young researchers, graduate students, practitioners, policy makers and the public to discuss the issues that concern them. This common space can also foster the joint examination of possible solutions to the problems encountered in order to maximize the positive effects of public policies on the health of the population and to minimize their negative effects.

- Increase the capacity for interdisciplinary, inter-institutional and inter-sectoral research on Public Policy and Population Health.
- Support structural initiatives by promoting interdisciplinary, inter-institutional and inter-sectoral networking.
- Facilitate the sharing and use of knowledge from research in Public Policy and Population Health.
