Autres nouvelles Mental health services see surge in demand as University of Calgary launches campus-wide plan - CBC News

With a growing demand for mental health services on campus, the University of Calgary is launching a campus-wide plan for student, faculty and staff. The Students' Union Wellness Centre has seen a steady rise in the number of students seeking counselling support, with 1,445 appointments in the first three months of the fall term, up from 1,118 in the same period last year.

That's an increase of 29 per cent. "The demand for services is really quite high," said Jennifer Thannhauser, a registered psychologist at the SU Wellness Centre. "We see high stress, anxiety, depression."
