Soutien au renforcement des capacités de recherche / Formation Global Health Workshop for Early and New HIV and HCV Investigators

The  Global Health Workshop is designed for early and new HIV and HCV investigators. During a one day long event, workshop participants will get insights on the following themes: Getting to Know your Funders; How to Write a Funding Application; Research Ethics; How to Run a Lab/Team; Lessons Learned as a New Investigator; How to Present Effectively; Writing an Abstract/Paper; Mock Peer Review; Community-Based Research; Working with Partners; etc.  Also included in the workshop program is a speed-dating mentorship session in which participants move from table to table for 15-minute discussions with experienced researchers/funders from various fields of expertise. Participants are expected to attend all sessions.

This workshop is organized in partnership between the Canadian Association for HIV Research (CAHR) and the Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH). CAHR and CSIH extend their appreciation to CIHR, CANFAR, and the Canadian HIV Vaccine Initiative Research and Development Alliance Coordinating Office for their generous support for this workshop.

Where ?

The workshop will take place in close proximity to the CCGH venue at the:

  • Plazza Centre Ville, (777 Boulevard Robert-Bourassa, Montréal, QC, H3C 3Z7) in the Victoria Room from 8:00 - 4:00 EST;
  • Refreshments and lunch will be provided;
  • All the participants and speakers are invited to a social event at the 3 Brasseurs pub (732 Rue Ste-Catherine Ouest, Montréal, QC, H3B 1B9).
