Webinaires Health in All Policies: Advancing Multisectoral Collaboration for Health Equity

Join the WHO Global Knowledge Network for Health Equity and the Global Network for Health in All Policies (GNHiAP) for a webinar exploring Health in All Policies (HiAP) and its potential for advancing equity across various sectors.

CONTEXT

During the 2021 World Health Assembly, the Member States of the WHO requested the Director-General to “foster and facilitate knowledge exchange among Member States and relevant stakeholders on best practices for intersectoral action on the social, economic and environmental determinants of health in order to achieve health equity and gender equality for all”. Through funding from the Public Health Agency of Canada, the WHO established the Global Network on Knowledge Development and Exchange for Health Equity to respond to this request.

For this webinar, the Global Network on Knowledge Development and Exchange for Health Equity has partnered with the GNHiAP to support knowledge exchange around HiAP as a tool to advance health equity.

ABOUT THE WEBINAR

Establishing and maintaining collaborations with partners across policy sectors are key to successfully act on the social determinants of health and improve health, wellbeing, and equity. This webinar will introduce participants to HiAP, an approach aimed at integrating health considerations into policymaking across all sectors to address the social determinants of health and create environments that promote health and wellbeing for all.

The webinar will explore how HiAP can serve as a tool for promoting equity by addressing the root causes of health disparities and inequities that are influenced by factors beyond healthcare, such as education, transportation, income, housing, and the environment. By engaging diverse stakeholders and fostering collaboration across sectors, HiAP initiatives have the potential to create more inclusive and equitable policies and systems. This webinar will also introduce the WHO Sustainable Multisectoral Collaboration Based on Health in All Policies Approaches guidance document, as a tool for implementing HiAP. This guidance document provides insights into how to navigate the complexities of multisectoral partnerships and leverage collective action to achieve health equity goals.

Through case examples, we will also showcase successful HiAP initiatives that have made tangible impacts on population health and equity, and discuss lessons learned.

WEBINAR OBJECTIVES
  • Learn about HiAP and its potential for comprehensive action on health equity;
  • Explore the WHO Sustainable Multisectoral Collaboration Based on Health in All Policies Approaches guidance document and its usefulness to implement HiAP;
